What is Claude?
Claude is Anthropic’s AI assistant. In practice it is chosen most often for work that involves a lot of source material: contracts, reports, research, long drafts and code.
What it does well
Reading long documents and answering questions about them without losing context. Producing prose that reads like a person wrote it. Working through a piece of analysis step by step and being explicit about what it cannot verify.
Who should use it
Consultants, writers, analysts and developers — anyone whose day involves long inputs and where a rewrite of the output would cost more than the tool saves.
Who should not use it
If you mainly want image generation, video, or a large library of third-party plugins, other assistants cover that ground more completely. And as with every general assistant, it is not a system of record: it does not replace your CRM, your estimating software or your document management.
