What is Descript?
Descript transcribes your video or audio and lets you edit the media by editing the text. Delete a sentence in the transcript and it disappears from the video.
What it does well
Interview and talking-head content: cutting filler, tightening rambling answers, cleaning audio and generating captions.
Who should use it
Podcasters, course creators and anyone publishing regular spoken-word video who does not want to learn a timeline editor.
Who should not use it
Editors doing narrative, motion-heavy or colour-critical work.
